Gear up for a great day paddling the Smith River. This ~5.5-hour paddle is a great way to experience the Smith River from Philpott Dam to our RV Park nestled on the Smith River. This is our longest float so bring a snack and some food (all of which you can stock up at our General Store beforehand).
Bassett To Smith River Adventures
This paddling experience from Bassett, VA to our RV Park is a great experience for those not looking to be on the river all day but still want the excitement of kayaking on the Smith River.
Gearing Up for Your Kayak Adventure
Essential Gear
A comfortable kayak, paddle, life jacket, and proper footwear are crucial. Don't forget sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a waterproof container for your valuables. (Kayak, paddle, and life jacket are included in trip cost. Personal clothing items including shoes and bathing suits are not included.)
Relax
Smith River Adventures offers kayak rentals and shuttles, making your adventure convenient and hassle-free. Drinks and snacks are not included but can be purchased in our General Store.
Safety First
Be aware of water levels and weather conditions before you head out. Always wear a life jacket, and familiarize yourself with basic kayaking safety practices. A river map, river safety video, and riverside instructions are included with your trip to ensure each guest has a fun and safe adventure.
